I Want Candy!

For the lecture of September 21st, we had the opportunity of meeting the artist Candy Depew. Most of her works are done in ceramics or fabric. But she does use many of types of mediums in her work, which I really think helps her stand out from the rising crowd in the art scene today. I really like how most of her work is centered around one main theme other than multiple ones. Her style of art is very interesting an unique compared to most others that you see today. In a lot of her works she repeats colors and shapes, creating a very compelling visual experience for the viewer. The way that she incorporates the "blooddrops" in her pieces really engages my eye and draws me toward it.
